5th ANNUAL MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS!

Your Generosity Made A Difference for 10 Agencies!

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of numerous schools, religious and civic groups, as well as families and individuals, the annual collection drive yielded huge results – AGAIN! The unofficial results:

Evanston School Children’s Clothing – 2 vans full of coats
Greater Chicago Food Depository – 6 1⁄4 pallets of food and paper goods
Glass Slipper Project – 126 prom dresses valued at $50,000
Hadley School for the Blind – large box of glasses
INFANT Inc., 1,100 cans of formula and 400 diapers
Infant Welfare society – 2 vans full
LifeSource Blood - 10 pints
McGaw YMCA – 2 large shuttle vans stuffed to the roof
New Trier Township Food Pantry – 2 vans full of paper goods
Working Bikes Co-op – 34 bikes!

Make a Difference Day 2007 was a tremendous success this year thanks to the many families and friends of The Volunteer Center and the following groups that we learned executed large collections. These groups include:

Crow Island School 4th graders
C.J. Smith of Wilmette, (freshman at New Trier) ran his own bike drive
Glencoe Park District
Glencoe Youth Services
Highcrest School – Entire 5th grade AND their neighborhoods
Lutheran Church of the Ascension
New Trier Senior Class Parents’ Association
New Trier High School Baseball Team
New Trier High School Field Hockey Team
New Trier Booster Club
