MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY 2007

On Saturday, October 20, 2007, New Trier Township families, groups, and individuals were invited to help the less fortunate by collecting needed food, clothing and supplies. Again this year, as with last year, the community came out in force, resulting in a record-setting collection of goods.

The 2007 Service Learning Workshop was held Wednesday, September 19th, 2007.

Community leaders, PTA/O Presidents, Service and Outreach Coordinators and Faith-based representatives were invited to share ideas and discover the best practices for designing and executing meaningful service projects for groups of all ages and backgrounds; school classes, youth groups, scout troops, confirmation and mitzvahs, etc. Also project ideas for Make a Difference Day, Martin Luther King Day, National Volunteer Week, and more were shared.

Our 2007 Annual Recognition Luncheon and Volunteer Fair was held Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Michigan Shores Club, 911 Michigan Avenue, Wilmette. The featured speaker was Tom Behrens, President of The Night Ministry. The Volunteer Fair was open to all - no fee or registration required.

Knocking Illiteracy Out of Our Lives With Dodge Ball!

The High School Board of the Volunteer Center (which has representatives from Loyola, New Trier, North Shore Country Day, and Regina) sponsored a dodge ball tournament Sunday, April 22nd to raise awareness of illiteracy.
