New Trier Township Residents Come Out in Force to Support Make A Difference Day 2006 – AGAIN!

Record Numbers of Donations Benefit 10 Social Service Agencies2006

Make A Difference Day Co-Chairs Sue Averill from Wilmette and Dina Crnkovich from Winnetka stand proudly before the banner that brings together thousands of residents for a one day collection drive every October.

“They just keep coming…” said Lea Murray, President of The Volunteer Center’s Board of Directors as a steady stream of cars loaded with donations of goods for the waiting agency reps continued to enter the Indian Hill Train Station Parking Lot Saturday, October 21st for The Volunteer Center’s 4th Annual Make A Difference Day celebration.

Many large collections organized by township schools and scout groups boosted this year’s drive. Record numbers were reported in each of the agency’s collections. Families and individuals in the community also generously donated items that will positively impact the local and metro Chicago non-profits.
