Martin Luther King, Jr. Day:
January 21, 2008
Purpose:  To help keep Dr. Kings’s legacy of service to others alive in communities across the country.

Nationa Youth Service Day
April 25 - 27, 2008
Purpose: To empower young people, highlighting their ongoing contributions to their communities and mobilizing their energy, commitment, and idealism through sustainable service

National Volunteer Week:
April 27 - May 3, 2008
Purpose: To recognize and celebrate the efforts of volunteers at the local, state, and national levels.

Join Hands Day:
May 3, 2008
Purpose:  Youth and Adults Volunteering Together!

Community Build Day:
August 2, 2008
Purpose: The Financial Services Roundtable assigns this day to be the physical manifestation of what its member companies do all year to build the communities they serve. In 2007 the Roundtable will have more than 50 builds nationwide.

MyGoodDeed.org:
September 11, 2008
Purpose: To encourage people everywhere to set aside time every September 11 to help others in need - in any fashion they deem appropriate - in honor of those who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against America.

Kids Care Week:
October `19 - 25, 2008
Purpose: Kids Care Week is dedicated to recognizing the power of kids to reach out and help others in their local community. During the week, young people focus their compassion on a specific social issue through a service project.

Make a Difference Day:
October 25, 2008
Purpose: To inspire and reward volunteers. Everyone who helps others on this day is eligible for a national or local award.

Family Volunteer Day:
November 22, 2008
Purpose:  To call families across America   to work together in volunteer service.

Kids Care Week
