The Rice Child and Family Center wishes to honor the Saclarides family (mother Elena, children Alexandra, Medodora, and Dino) who have been volunteering for us since last November. Once a week they asist at two of our treatment units: Zazzy's Nail Boutique and Dora's Knitwitz Club. Dino has gotten his high school senior class to sponsor programs for us, such as painting our recreation room, and has gotten others to donate an air hockey table, foosball table, and pool table. The Saclarides' are a wonderful family who embody the spriti of volunteering. They are kind and patient with all they come in contact with.

Youth Connection would like to note the diligence and hard work of the outgoing Youth Connection President, Brek Peterson, of Wilmette. Brek worked for several years to build Youth Connection into a health and vibrant agency while at the same time dramatically improving the financial health of the organization. His efforts allowed for the expansion of our after school homework support program at Wilmette Junior High, from two days a week with one staff to the current four days a week with two staff. As a result of his leadership the 7th and 8th grade students at WJHS have vastly increased their use of the program and we currently serve over 350 different students a year.
