| Board Members for CNE | Join the Board of Directors at Childcare Network of Evanston…Make a difference in the lives of young children and their families. The Childcare Network of Evanston (CNE) would like to invite those interested in joining the Board of Directors. Serving on the Board is a rewarding and fulfilling experience that provides opportunities to give back to the community and secure the continuing existence of a valuable resource for young children. We are searching for volunteers who are interested in high quality early childhood education and care. The Board's main objective is to oversee CNE operations, and to raise sufficient funds for continued provision of programs and services. CNE asks for a two year term commitment for members serving on the Board of Directors. Attendance at monthly meetings and special events is also required. | Awards/Benefit Committee Members | Annual Awards/ Benefit Committee – This ad hoc committee is responsible for planning and executing our major fundraiser of the year. The committee typically forms in March to plan for the first Sunday in November event. | JOIN OUR TEAM! | At the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago there are 3,000 active volunteers working day and night throughout northeastern Illinois. Volunteers are 90% of our staff and we would not be able to do the work without them. We would love for you to join our team! Volunteers play a vital role in fulfilling the Red Cross mission: preparedness, prevention, and response to emergencies. No matter your interests, skills or schedule, you can make a significant contribution to your community. Volunteers are needed in all areas of our work from instructing courses, providing office support, assisting with disaster response, etc. All training will be provided. | Nature Guide | Do you love nature? Do you enjoy teaching others? Volunteer as a Friends of the Forest Preserves nature guide! Beginning in the spring of 2009, Friends of the Forest Preserves nature guides will begin leading public tours at Somme Prairie Grove in Northbrook and Harms Woods in Skokie. You can help us spread the word about Cook County's natural wonders. No experience is necessary. Guides will learn about the preserves through lectures, readings and field visits during the nature guide training course.
