Anti-Hunger Service Volunteers Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation has over 160 member agencies-- soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and child programs-- throughout metro Chicago. We can provide volunteer referrals to our member agencies, to help you find meaningful and needed volunteer opportunities. We prefer to match volunteers in the communities where they live or work. Volunteering can be a long lasting relationship, and helping people and programs locally benefits you, your neighbors, and your community. Contact Jessica at jbouboulis @ antihunger.org, and provide your name, neighborhood or city you live or work in, and days of the week you are looking to volunteer. We will provide you some contact information on programs you can follow-up with.
Awards/Benefit Committee Members Annual Awards/ Benefit Committee – This ad hoc committee is responsible for planning and executing our major fundraiser of the year. The committee typically forms in March to plan for the first Sunday in November event. This event helps to raise funds, awareness for the organization and recognition to outstanding individuals, organizations in the early childhood community.
Board Members for CNE Join the Board of Directors at Childcare Network of Evanston…Make a difference in the lives of young children and their families. The Childcare Network of Evanston (CNE) would like to invite those interested in joining the Board of Directors. Serving on the Board is a rewarding and fulfilling experience that provides opportunities to give back to the community and secure the continuing existence of a valuable resource for young children. We are searching for volunteers who are interested in high quality early childhood education and care. The Board's main objective is to oversee CNE operations, and to raise sufficient funds for continued provision of programs and services. CNE asks for a two year term commitment for members serving on the Board of Directors. Attendance at monthly meetings and special events is also required. Board members participate in ongoing committee work between monthly meetings.

JOIN OUR TEAM! At the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago there are 3,000 active volunteers working day and night throughout northeastern Illinois. Volunteers are 90% of our staff and we would not be able to do the work without them. We would love for you to join our team! Volunteers play a vital role in fulfilling the Red Cross mission: preparedness, prevention, and response to emergencies. No matter your interests, skills or schedule, you can make a significant contribution to your community. Volunteers are needed in all areas of our work from instructing courses, providing office support, assisting with disaster response, etc. All training will be provided. Pre-Arrival Volunteer Want to make a positive difference in the life of a refugee in Chicago? Here's how! Interfaith Refugee and Immigration Ministries is committed to providing newly arriving refugees with fully furnished and supplied apartments. Each household must be completed before our refugee clients arrive in Chicago. Volunteers can help with any and all of the following: raising in-kind donations, pick up and delivery, storage, moving furniture, shopping for household items and groceries (no financial contribution necessary), setting up apartments, inviting others to volunteer. On the day of arrival, you may join Interfaith staff to welcome refugees at O'Hare airport, or prepare a hot meal to be waiting for them when they arrive at their new home. As a Pre-Arrival Volunteer, your work will be a fundamental element in assuaging the stress and confusion that comes with finding your way in a new home.

Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation – WBBM Good Neighbor Radiothon On Friday, December 11, 2009, from 5am until midnight, WBBM NEWSRADIO 780 and the Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation will partner for the 14th Annual "Good Neighbor Radiothon". This year's event will be broadcast from our warehouse at 4345 W. Division (Division and Kostner) in Chicago. We need volunteers to answer the phones and make this our best Radiothon ever! We need you…now more than ever! The Good Neighbor Radiothon raises funds to help Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation feed those in need in our community. Again this year WBBM will be hosting the Radiothon live on location. The success of this annual fundraiser relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to take calls and donations from WBBM listeners. You choose the time length to volunteer. We just ask that your start and finish time fall on the hour. There is a secure parking lot on location for volunteers.

Food Rescue Food Rescue seeks to bring together restaurants, food pantries, and citizen volunteers to feed people in need. Our goal is to find 2 million dollars worth of retail food and 500 new volunteers each year, for 5 years. Our volunteers donate approximately 90 minutes of their time, one day each month. They rescue food that otherwise would have been discarded, and give it to those in need.

Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) The mission of the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) is to ensure that recreation opportunities are available for adults and children with disabilities. NSSRA provides year-round recreation and leisure opportunities for people with disabilities. Individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, social, or other disabilities residing in the northern suburbs are eligible to participate. NSSRA offers more than 150 programs and events each season and serves approximately 1500 different individuals with disabilities in creative arts, sports, drama, dance, cooking and other areas. Additionally, SEPA plans to provide training and support for parents of students in the community to help the students thrive in school.
