| Become a Hospice Volunteer in Your Community | Join us for a brief introduction to the programs and volunteer opportunities at Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter, a nonprofit, community-based healthcare organization. Volunteer orientation is conducted on the fourth Tuesday of every month at our Glenview campus, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025. The 90-minute session includes brief overviews of CareCenter programs and services, hospice and palliative care and our volunteer opportunities. Our volunteer opportunities include: visiting with hospice patients, assembling materials and mailings, baking for special events, helping out at bereavement groups and events for children and teens, greeting visitors at our reception desk, and providing general office support. |

| Pre-Arrival Volunteer | Want to make a positive difference in the life of a refugee in Chicago? Here's how! Interfaith Refugee and Immigration Ministries is committed to providing newly arriving refugees with fully furnished and supplied apartments. Each household must be completed before our refugee clients arrive in Chicago. Volunteers can help with any and all of the following: raising in-kind donations, pick up and delivery, storage, moving furniture, shopping for household items and groceries (no financial contribution necessary), setting up apartments, inviting others to volunteer. On the day of arrival, you may join Interfaith staff to welcome refugees at O'Hare airport, or prepare a hot meal to be waiting for them when they arrive at their new home. As a Pre-Arrival Volunteer, your work will be a fundamental element in assuaging the stress and confusion that comes with finding your way in a new home. |
