| Docent | Docents receive training and then help give tours of the Park, slide lectures in schools and retirement communities, churches and houses of worship, local business and community organizations and private groups |
| Recreation Program Volunteer | Assist NSSRA Recreation Specialist in providing NSSRA seasonal recreation programs for children and adults with disabilities in a fun, safe environment. |
| Sign-In Team (SIT) | In this position, volunteers check in individuals who are registered for our joint NSSC/OASIS programs. (Program topics include art, music, politics, religion and spirituality, history, etc.) The SIT volunteer arrives one hour before the program to organize enrollment lists and welcome registrants. Once everyone is signed in (about 15 minutes after the class starts), the volunteer joins (and enjoys!) the program for no charge and is "on call" if the presenter needs assistance (i.e. with the lights). After the class ends, the volunteer returns the sign-in materials to the office. Training is provided. |

| Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) | The mission of the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) is to ensure that recreation opportunities are available for adults and children with disabilities. NSSRA provides year-round recreation and leisure opportunities for people with disabilities. Individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, social, or other disabilities residing in the northern suburbs are eligible to participate. NSSRA offers more than 150 programs and events each season and serves approximately 1500 different individuals with disabilities in creative arts, sports, drama, dance, cooking and other areas. Programs are offered at park district, school and other locations throughout the Northern Suburban area. |
