Musical Holiday at Orphans of the Storm animal shelter:
Musicians Invited! Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings in December 6-7pm at the Orphans of the Storm animal shelter is holiday music open mic nights and Sundays throughout December 2-3pm Come share your musical talent! Contact Jackie@orphansofthestorm.org or 847-602-8508 Music has become a big part of the experience at Orphans of the Storm animal shelter. Classical music is pumped into the kennels to calm the dogs, and recently we added a violinist on a few Sunday afternoons. The adopters and staff loved it. The adopters stayed longer enjoying the music, and more animals were seen, and adopted. We would like to expand the musical experience at the shelter this holiday season. Do you play an instrument or enjoy singing? Maybe you have a singing group? Would you like the opportunity to share your talent and practice your passion? During the month of December we are inviting local musicians to come over and share their talent with the shelter visitors and staff. Whether your passion be a string, wind, keyboard instrument, or your voice, come and help us spread the cheer. Our music hour will be 6-7pm on Thursdays through Saturdays and 2-3pm on Sunday afternoons. As always, the shelter will be open Christmas Eve Day and New Year's Eve Day 11am-3pm. Please stop in for hors devours and sparkling cider, and quite possibly meet a friend for life.

Become a Volunteer - 2011 Chicago Humanities Festival:
The 2011 Chicago Humanities Festival is tech•knowledgē (October 16 through November 13, 2011); it’s “technology” with “knowledge” at its center.
